Jan and I are back, after a wonderful 3-week vacation, and now it’s time to think about politics (and earrings) again.

Many of you requested pairs of the “comma-la” earrings that I made with my 3D printer. I gave out more than two dozen pairs before we left. As most readers know by now, the earrings are white with three black letters: “,la”. This is a reference to a common way of explaining the pronunciation of “Kamala”.

I hope that the earrings serve a dual purpose: to serve as a “secret handshake”, allowing Kamala supporters to recognize each other; and as a “conversation starter”, when the uninitiated see the earrings and inquire about the meaning of the letters.

While we were gone, another 11 earring requests came in, and I expect (and hope for) many more. I’m ready to get back into earring-making mode, but I find I can’t keep giving them away. Still, I want to keep them affordable so that they get broad exposure.

I have decided to charge $10/pair. For each pair sold, I’ll keep $5 to cover my costs, and I’ll give $5 to local, state, and national Democratic campaigns. (Let me know if the price is holding you back from getting a pair—we’ll work something out.)

I will be in touch with those of you who requested earrings while we were away.

So: tell all your friends that they can get their very own “comma-la” earrings for just $10. Contact me to arrange for payment and delivery. For Kendal residents, I’ll deliver them to your door or your open box—or you can pick them up from me. If you want them shipped to other addresses, that’s something you’ll need to do on your own.
