On Sunday, October 13, from 1:00 to 3:00, the Crosslands Energy Committee is sponsoring an EV car show, featuring about 10 electric cars and trucks (including plug-in hybrids). The vehicles come from a variety of manufacturers. All are owned by Kendal-Crosslands residents or their family members. The owners will be there to talk about their experiences owning an electric vehicle. The event will be held in the parking lot behind the Crosslands Center (next to the pond).
Jan and I have a plug-in hybrid (a Toyota Rav4 Prime) and we love it. It will go 40-50 miles on battery power alone, so we rarely buy gas — and electricity is far cheaper than gas. We won’t have our car in the show, but Crosslands residents David and Margaret Camp have the same model and will be showing it.
Among the other manufacturers represented will be Hyundai, Tesla (including the new Cybertruck), and Rivian. You’re sure to see some familiar EVs and some you haven’t seen before. Are you wondering about charging? Range? Maintenance? This is the place to get answers about the real-world experience of EV owners. And you might even get a test ride.
